With over 30 years of experience in aerospace and defense, Martin Brady, principal and founder of NDT iX, is a recognized authority in advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) and inspection technologies. His career spans leadership roles across major aerospace manufacturers, including Howmet Aerospace, Arconic, and ALCOA Automotive, where he has consistently implemented innovative inspection solutions and ensured compliance with the highest industry standards.
Martin’s expertise covers a wide range of NDT methods, including film and non-film radiography, CT scanning, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing, as well as the integration of automated digital inspection systems into complex production environments. He has successfully led Level 3 oversight programs, NADCAP and prime approvals, and introduced new inspection technologies that enhanced product integrity and operational efficiency.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Responsible Level III / BU NDT Lead Engineer – Howmet Aerospace (1996–2025): Oversaw all nondestructive testing operations, implementing advanced techniques across critical aerospace components.
- Senior Project & Level 3 NDT Engineer – Arconic: Led teams in deploying new inspection technologies and maintaining audit-ready compliance with aerospace standards.
- NDT Manager – ALCOA Automotive & Castings Technologies Company: Managed automated digital radiography and fluorescent penetrant systems, optimizing inspection workflows.
- NDT Technician – X-R-I Testing & Air National Guard: Hands-on experience in radiography, liquid penetrant, ultrasonics, and magnetic particle testing.
